Step by step
- 01
Check Path to Affiliate first
Twitch Help: Achievements ↗You see verified badges on other channels and you want one. Fair, but first things first: Twitch says finishing the achievements only makes you eligible to apply, and being eligible doesn't guarantee Partner status. If you're not an Affiliate yet, the path is 25 followers, 4 hours, 4 different days and 3 average viewers across 4 days, all within 30 days. The Twitch Affiliate guide walks through it.
What you should see: In Achievements, Path to Affiliate shows all four checkmarks.
- 02
Read Path to Partner in Achievements
Twitch Help: Achievements ↗Open the Creator Dashboard and go to Achievements. Path to Partner has two achievements: 6 streams on 6 unique days averaging 75 viewers in the last 30 days, and another 6 streams on 6 unique days averaging 75 in days 30 to 60. That's 12 streams over two months in a row. A stream under 75 average doesn't count toward it, but it doesn't count against you either. Days are counted in GMT, so a late-night stream can land on the next day.
What you should see: Achievements shows Path to Partner with your progress for each 30-day window.
- 03
Count your streams in Analytics, not by feel
Twitch Help: Tips for Applying to the Partner Program ↗Go to Channel Analytics and find 6 streams from the last 30 days at 75 average viewers or more. Then change the date range at the top of the page and do the same for the 30 days before. Twitch says a channel holding steady at 70 to 80 viewers has a better shot than one swinging between 20 and 200. Viewers from front-page promotion or from streams embedded on other sites don't count.
What you should see: With the date range changed in Analytics, you can point to 6 streams in each window at 75 or more.
- 04
Get your channel ready for review
Twitch Help: Tips for Applying to the Partner Program ↗Twitch reviews your past broadcasts, so they need to be published and public. If yours aren't being saved, open the VOD settings in your dashboard and turn on publishing before you apply. Your channel also can't have a Terms of Service suspension in the last 60 days, and your content has to follow the Community Guidelines and DMCA rules.
What you should see: On your channel, your recent broadcasts show as published and anyone can watch them.
- 05
Apply once Path to Partner is complete
Twitch Help: Tips for Applying to the Partner Program ↗You have to finish Path to Partner before you can apply. The form has an optional write-in for context about your channel, and Twitch suggests 200 words or fewer. The day you send it doesn't matter, and neither does calling yourself a gaming or variety streamer. Review usually takes up to 2 weeks and the answer comes by email. A rejection doesn't hurt future applications, and the email tells you what to work on. In rare circumstances, Twitch may consider applications outside these criteria, due to exceptional viewership growth or a large established audience on other platforms.
What you should see: Within about 2 weeks, Twitch's decision on your application lands in your email inbox.

See what changes from Affiliate to Partner
Twitch Help: About Monetization on Twitch ↗Both earn from subs, Bits and ads. Partner adds payout fees covered by Twitch, VODs kept for 60 days instead of 14, full transcodes, custom Cheermotes, the verified channel badge, up to 15 minutes of stream delay from Stream Manager, and prioritized support.
What you should see: You've noted which Partner tools would help your channel most.

Take your clips off Twitch to actually grow
Nicole Rojas | YouTube | 7:37 (video in Spanish) ↗Growing only inside Twitch is really hard, because hardly anyone browses the home page looking for someone new. Clips are one of your best tools for getting seen: someone catches you in an Instagram video, likes you, and turns up at your next stream. And that's it, that's the real work behind those 75 viewers.
What you should see: Your clip is posted on another platform with your Twitch channel name in the caption.
If something does not work
- You hit the numbers and no apply button shows up
- Twitch asks for the numbers in the two consecutive months before you apply. Achievement progress can also take up to 48 hours to update, so give it two days before assuming something's broken.
- A stream with 75 or more viewers didn't count
- If those viewers came from a front-page promotion or an embedded stream on another site, Twitch doesn't count them. Check the date in GMT too, since a stream that started late in the evening may sit on the next day.
- Your application was rejected
- Read the rejection email, because it says what to improve. Twitch says a denial doesn't hurt your future chances. Work on what they flagged and apply again once you meet the requirements again.
- Someone offers you viewers or follows to get there faster
- Twitch bans inflating viewers or followers with bots, follow-for-follow or lurk-for-lurk swaps, and pages packed with embedded streams, and enforcement goes up to an indefinite suspension. Twitch also checks whether your viewers actually interact. That shortcut costs you the channel. Hard pass.
Test before you go live
- You've listed the 12 streams that meet the 75 average, 6 per month.
- Those streams' viewers didn't come from front-page promotion or embeds.
- Your channel has gone more than 60 days without a suspension.
- Your optional write-in is 200 words or fewer.
- You know which new tools you'll set up first if you're accepted.

How do you get verified on Twitch?
The verified channel badge is a Partner feature. Affiliates don't get it, so the route is completing Path to Partner, applying and being accepted.
What happens when you reach 50 followers on Twitch?
Nothing special on its own. Affiliate today needs 25 followers, 4 hours, 4 different days and 3 average viewers across 4 days, and for Partner the viewer numbers matter far more than followers.
Does Twitch pay you to stream?
Not by the hour. You earn from subs, Bits and ads, and you need Affiliate or Partner status to withdraw that money. The numbers for each are in the guide on how much Twitch and Kick pay.
What do you need to stream on Twitch?
Anyone with a Twitch account can go live. Some community tools ask you to verify your phone number or email, and you need to finish onboarding before you can monetize.
How long does Twitch take to review a Partner application?
Twitch says review usually takes up to 2 weeks, and longer when applications pile up. You'll get the answer by email. Refreshing Achievements every five minutes won't speed it up, but we've all done it.
Do Partners get a bigger sub split than Affiliates?
Twitch doesn't publish a different base split for Partners. Its Partner page points to the Plus Program, which gives 60/40 or 70/30 on subs to Affiliates and Partners who hold enough Plus Points for 3 months in a row.
