Connect the right account

Confirm the connection

Enable needed events

A widget URL may expose visual configuration, so do not put it in a public guide or unmasked screenshot. KICK and BotRix can change labels or permissions, so the connected account is the source of truth.

Design the alert

Tune color and message
Nicole Rojas | YouTube | 4:33 ↗Test one short name and one that nearly fills the available width. Check color over both a light and dark scene. Lower the sound until speech stays clear and use only assets you may broadcast. If the alert supports event variants, change one before testing again.

Copy the widget URL

What you should see: The URL is ready without exposure.

Load Browser Source
Nicole Rojas | YouTube | 5:34 ↗In OBS add Browser Source, paste the URL, and set width and height to match preview. Leave Local file off because you are loading a URL. Put the source in a test scene and use Refresh cache of current page if the widget keeps an older version.
What you should see: The widget appears without scroll.

Then cause one controlled real event your account supports. If preview works and the event does not, inspect connection and permissions before redesigning the alert.

If something does not work
- It is not a moderator
- Confirm the exact BotRix username, channel, and roles path. KICK lets a channel owner add moderators in Streamer Dashboard or with /mod.
- It does not appear in OBS
- Run the widget test. If it also fails, check the full URL, source visibility, and cache. If the test appears, inspect the KICK connection instead.
- It sits behind the game
- Move Browser Source higher in the list or scene.
- You hear but cannot see it
- Check browser size and position.

Does BotRix need moderator access?
Nicole's workflow adds BotRix as a moderator. Confirm the username and current permissions in KICK. The channel owner can use Streamer Dashboard or /mod. Then test a real event, not only preview.
Does one URL serve every alert?
Nicole shows one URL for configured events. Check the current panel.
Can I use any sound?
Use files you can broadcast and test volume.
Will it work if BotRix is closed?
A web connection can expire. Test with the active account before streaming.
How do I separate a design problem from a connection problem?
Run the dashboard test first. If it appears in OBS, the URL, viewport, and source order work. Then test one real event. When only the real event fails, inspect the KICK account, moderator role, and enabled event type.
